Gadar 2 Trailer Review: Does It Appear That Sunny Deol Went To Lucknow-Based Pakistan For The Hand-Pump Instead Of His Son? Is It Still A Better Love Story Than Twilight?

With the release of the Gadar 2 trailer, it appears that Sunny Deol's Tara Singh is prepared to go to war to get his kid back. Continuity follows.

The trailer for Sunny Deol's eagerly awaited action film Gadar 2, which is about to be released in theatres, has been released. The film, which is centred on the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 and is loaded with patriotism and a fight to bring Tara Singh's son back from Pakistan, will once again pit Tara Singh against every foe in an effort to preserve the honour of his family and nation. Though the Pakistani setting in the film was actually filmed in Lucknow, it is far from the real Pakistan.

Fans undoubtedly rejoiced to witness Tara Singh as the Indian Thor wreaking havoc on Pakistani army men with a much larger sledgehammer. We get to watch Sunny Deol furious and once more prepared to exterminate the handpump as Tara is the Damad Ji of Pakistan that they would never want to see. Or is he not? Well, the fans who were eagerly awaiting the movie were satisfied with the wonderful gaze at the end of the trailer.

The fact that the Pakistani scenes in the Gadar 2 trailer weren't authentic was one of its biggest flaws. Instead, La Martiniere College in Lucknow served as the backdrop for every shot in the Pakistan trailer. As he witnesses his son Jeete (Utkarsh) being tortured by a general in the Pakistani army, Sunny Deol's character is able to deliver some impactful speech. In addition, whereas the first film focused on him winning his wife back, this time it appears to be much more of a love story. However, is it still superior to RPatz's Twilight film?

Later in the picture, Tara sets out on a daring expedition to Lahore, and the gate shown is from Lucknow's historic district. As even the first movie was filmed in the city of Nawabs, it is not the first time the city has been used to represent Pakistan. The scene in which Sunny Deol pulls out the handpump in the first film was filmed in Lucknow's Aishbagh neighbourhood.

The rendezvous took place at the Safed Baradari in Lucknow, which is also where they first met. Even the locals remembered the city scenes and noticed how the film attempted to capitalise on the sentiments of the 2001 film. The backdrop artists reportedly had to wait for hours while the movie was being filmed.

The La Marts playground, where many people play football and cricket, is the setting for the scenario in which Sunny Deol threatens the Pakistani army. Have the Gadar 2 producers tried to cut production costs by choosing Lucknow as the location for the filming? Additionally, Tara Singh is prepared to whip out some handpumps once more, thus the movie has been marketed as being somewhat of a semi-personal war of his.

The reduced production costs of the cities in Uttar Pradesh are thought to be one of the factors for the Anil Sharma-directed film's choice of Lucknow as the location. Given the political scenarios and the film's patriotic content, it is reasonable to believe that the movie may not be subject to state taxes.

Gadar 2, which will be directed by Anil Sharma, will debut on August 11th, 2023.
