The series, which spans seven episodes, is set in western Uttar Pradesh and centres on Kajri, a teenage athlete whose life is turned upside down following the violent killings of her father and brother. Having lost control of the family business, Kajri is now at the mercy of her cruel uncle Brijbhan, who wants to marry her off to Vishesh, the son of a prominent local politician.

Kajri elopes with her high school sweetheart Gagan, also known as Gogi, a javelin throw aficionado, defying Brijban's plans in an effort to start a new life together far from the crime and corruption that surrounds them. Their joy, however, is short-lived as Brijbhan strikes back by murdering Gogi's family, leaving Kajri with little choice but to make a painful decision. Kajri and Gogi are in a perilous world while evading Brijbhan and his goons, and their survival is in doubt.

Virodh: Actors' statements

Speaking about her experience, the actress who plays Kajri in the show said, "Playing Kajri has been an enlightening experience in that I embodied not just the personality but also the life of a small-town girl and the possibilities that lay ahead of her; a grounded character full of dreams and hopes in the face of adversity. My love of exercise has been a huge assist in my training while shooting.

The actor who portrays Gogi, Abhinav Ranga, also talked about his experience, saying, "Gogi's character has a complicated and nuanced past, which makes it all the more exciting to depict. The show's sports component increased the level of challenge and excitement. Although I had to put in a lot of practise for the javelin throwing sequences, my early involvement in athletics had a significant impact on my understanding of the discipline and commitment required of athletes to be the best in their profession.
