When the orphanage manager asserts that Akhil is the child who owns the property, Meet is astonished. Although Meet is approached by Akhil and is addressed as "Mumma," she doesn't experience the same affinity as she did with Cheeku. Meet reflects on the close relationship she had with Cheeku when he addressed her as "mumma." She is perplexed as to how it is possible and is certain that Cheeku is her child and not this child. Meet is convinced that Cheeku is her son, despite the manager's protestations to the contrary. She suggests adopting Cheeku and conducting a DNA test to confirm it.
A man tells Sarkar that Meet is resolved to adopt Cheeku in the meanwhile. The administrator of the orphanage teases Meet, calling her a horrible mother for rejecting her own child. He won't let Meet take Cheeku unless she presents proof. Meet advises him to hold off until that evening when she will bring the results of the DNA test. In preparation for Cheeku's return, Sumeet is busy decorating the household. Gunwanti poses as Sumeet's helper and requests assistance affixing balloons to a board. Gunwanti is questioned by Mahendra on the new game she is playing. By displaying affection for Sumeet and Cheeku, Gunwanti admits that she is attempting to win over Meet in the hopes that Meet will appoint them as partners in the factory.
Meet gives Cheeku a bear embrace before calling him. When will they take him to Sumeet, he inquires. Cheeku admits that he misses Sumeet a lot and feels terrified at the orphanage. Manmeet discovers a drawing of Cheeku's family that Cheeku produced. Meet promises Cheeku that he would soon be back at his family's house. Sarkar visited the orphanage and spoke with the manager and attendant, but he didn't meet Cheeku, according to Cheeku. Manmeet and Meet speculate about Sarkar's motivations.

Following Meet and Manmeet's departure, Shagun shows up at the orphanage and announces her intent to adopt a kid. Sumeet shocks Meet and Manmeet by blindfolding them and guiding them inside the house in the meantime. Meet smiles as she shows him the preparations she has made for Cheeku's arrival. Sumeet reveals that she has already designated a spot in her cupboard for Cheeku, divided the toys, and even set a schedule for their time together when they play and learn. Meet expresses gratitude for Sumeet's work and pledges to soon bring her "Cheek bhaiya" home. Gunwanti offers to organize all the supplies when she considers having a "hawan" ceremony for Cheeku.
Gunwanti's altered behavior surprises Manmeet. Meet explains that Gunwanti's positive change is a good sign and that she has been reunited with her long-lost son. When Sumeet inquires about DNA, Meet responds that it serves as the link that binds family members together. Manmeet smiles when Sumeet says that it means "Dear Near Apne." Masoom sees Gunwanti telling Lata to chop the fruits skillfully in order to wow Meet as he arrives with a present for Sumeet. Masoom gives Sumeet a locket that features a Mata Rani pendant, just like Cheeku did. Sumeet informs Meet that Cheeku owns the same locket and that she gave it to Sarkar with the request that he give it back to Cheeku once he returned from the hospital. Meet became aware that Sarkar was already aware that Cheeku was her child.
